Job Title: Junior Aquatics Director– Summer Camp (Seasonal)

Location: Regional (East Windsor, Hillsborough, Warren, Westfield, Princeton and Mount Laurel, NJ)
Reports to: Senior Aquatics Director
Position Type: Seasonal (Summer)

Full Time Monday – Friday, 8 hour shift, 40 hours per week

Job Summary:

The Junior Aquatics Director/ Certified Pool Operator (CPO) at our summer camp is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and fully operational pool facilities throughout the camp season. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a healthy aquatic environment for campers and staff by overseeing daily pool operations and supporting the overall safety of the swimming area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain proper pool chemistry (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, etc.) in accordance with health codes.
  • Inspect and maintain pumps, filters, heaters, and chemical feeders.
  • Keep detailed and accurate logs of chemical testing, maintenance activities, and any incidents.
  • Clean and maintain pool decks, surrounding areas as needed.
  • Communicate with lifeguards and School Leadership as well as the Regional Director’s to ensure the pool is safe for use each day.
  • Ensure compliance with local and state health and safety regulations.
  • Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions, hazards, or unsanitary conditions.
  • Support in setup and breakdown of pool facilities at the start and end of the season.
Requirements
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification (required and current).
  • Previous pool maintenance experience preferred (especially in a camp, school or recreational setting).
  • Basic mechanical knowledge related to pool systems and equipment.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor conditions for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
