Job summary

Insteel Industries in Missouri is seeking an Applications Developer I to contribute to the design, development, and testing of business applications. Under supervision, you will translate detailed specifications into code, perform unit tests, and prepare documentation for review.

You will work with cross-functional teams, gather requirements from end users, assist in time/cost estimates, and support deployment at manufacturing sites, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems fields; or in Mathematics with minors in Computer Science or Information Systems fields.
• Knowledge of complex application design techniques, computer hardware/software systems and operating systems, and networks.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains application software from detailed specifications.
• Tests application code to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Prepares embedded application/program documentation for review by senior staff.
• Consults with end-user community to determine and satisfy business requirements.
• Assists in time/cost estimates for program preparation, modification, testing, and development.
• Collaborates with plant operations and travels to understand processes and deploy software.
