Position Summary:

We are seeking a self-driven Junior Anaplan Model Builder to enhance our Anaplan Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) environment and related areas within the Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Center of Excellence Transformation team.

The Team:

Our FP&A team influences decisions at all levels, from the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership to managers, by analyzing financial results and developing forecasts. The Center of Excellence Transformation team is a highly agile, visible group of trusted partners committed to advancing athena’s forecasting and reporting capabilities across people, processes, and technology. You will be part of a 5-person Model Builder team based in the US and India.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Become the go-to person for Workforce Planning in Anaplan, working closely with business leads, including FPA & HR partners, systems analysts, UX designers, and project managers.
  2. Partner with FP&A and HR to identify process gaps and areas for improvement as a Business Systems Analyst.
  3. Translate business requirements into high-quality Anaplan solutions, following development processes: gather requirements, design, develop, test, and maintain models.
  4. Update and optimize existing models to enhance functionality and user experience, focusing on UX pages and AnaplanXL interfaces.
  5. Define data integration and scheduling requirements with IT, utilizing ETL tools like Informatica and Anaplan Data Orchestrator; guide data owners on best practices and data reconciliation.
  6. Manage critical Anaplan components, including settings and workspace usage.
  7. Address questions and issues through research, documentation, and escalation to support when necessary.
  8. Communicate project status, milestones, and bug fixes through regular updates and meetings.
  9. Develop expertise in the Anaplan platform, participate in hackathons, stay updated on platform releases, and pursue additional certifications.
  10. Set long-term goals, such as becoming a Solution Architect.
  11. Assist with hierarchy governance, including monthly reviews and bulk data updates.
Behaviors and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with Workforce Planning, modeling, reporting, and HR planning.
  • Understanding of financial analysis, modeling, reporting, and accounting concepts.
  • At least 1 year of Anaplan model building experience, including Level 1 certification and a full lifecycle implementation.
  • Technical proficiency in modules with multiple dimensions, import/export actions, and ALM; experience with Anaplan Polaris, Data Orchestration, Workflows, and AnaplanXL is a bonus.
  • Willingness to step outside comfort zones to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Attention to detail and ability to execute projects on time.
  • Excellent communication skills for aligning, teaching, and documenting.
  • Organized, action-oriented, with a good understanding of process flows.
