What We’re Building
At Firestorm, we’re democratizing deterrence. By combining Silicon Valley agility with tactical mission focus, we build autonomous aerial systems that shift the cost curve and empower allies to win in contested environments. If you’re looking to build your career at the cutting edge of defense tech and contribute to real-world impact, this is the place.
About The Role
We’re looking for an early-career analyst to help fuel Firestorm’s growth through smart, strategic pursuit of federal opportunities. You’ll monitor government portals, identify mission-aligned contracts, and help shape high-impact proposals. This role is perfect for someone eager to break into federal business development, learn the ropes of proposal strategy, and grow in a fast-moving startup.
A Day in the Life...
Morning – You scan SAM.gov and other sources, identifying a promising SBIR solicitation. You flag it in the tracker and do a quick relevance assessment.
Midday – You pull key requirements, build a draft compliance matrix, and present the opportunity to the portfolio lead. You outline estimated level of effort and suggest teammates to loop in.
Evening – You advance the proposal shell to 50%: outline, compliance checklist, key forms prepped. You tag technical leads for input and update the tracker with KPIs.
Your Mission
- Monitor government contracting portals and triage opportunities
- Perform first-pass relevance reviews and prepare KPI reports
- Conduct detailed solicitation analysis and prepare go/no-go briefs
- Develop compliance matrices, proposal outlines, and early-stage drafts
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather required inputs
- Support document management and on-time submissions
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field
- 0–5 years of experience in proposal coordination or federal contracting
- Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and government acquisition norms
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable managing multiple deadlines and inputs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools
- U.S. Citizen; eligible for roles requiring clearance
Bonus If You Bring
- Internship or experience in federal proposal development
- Familiarity with Shipley-based proposal frameworks
- Exposure to cost analysis or pricing inputs
- Experience using SAM.gov and tracking systems
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
