Job summary

Dark Horse Comics is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join the Accounting department as an entry-level role focused on Accounts Payable, with support across Accounts Receivable and Royalties.

You will perform data entry, reconcile records, and assist with administrative tasks to keep the department operating accurately and on time.

Ideal candidates have at least one year in accounting, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or a related administrative role.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and work independently in a time-sensitive environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Organized, self-motivated, and capable of problem-solving with minimal direction.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work effectively with outside vendors, creators, and editors, maintaining a professional attitude with a wide range of personalities.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable transactions, including reviewing work-for-hire contracts and ensuring payment accuracy.
• Perform daily data entry into accounting software and/or the corporate database.
• Maintain accurate information in the accounting system and master lists.
• Provide coverage and task support across Accounts Receivable and Royalty functions as assigned.
• Assist the accounting team with overflow AP, AR, and royalty-related tasks.
• Investigate and assist with the resolution of discrepancies as assigned.
• Track and reconcile expenses for internal reporting.
• File accounting documents in a timely and organized manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
