Job summary

Vistra Corporate Services Company is hiring an Accountant I to contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of the accounting program, performing essential accounting tasks and supporting daily accounting operations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferred in accounting/finance) and 0–3 years of related experience; energy industry exposure is a plus and familiarity with accounting/reporting systems is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience preferred in energy industry, but not required.
• Experience with accounting and/or reporting systems.
• Strong financial analysis, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Process improvement oriented.
• Fundamental understanding of the accounting close process.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned tasks with attention to accuracy and adherence to established procedures and controls.
• Gathers, organizes, and verifies data to support reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
• Assists with process enhancements by identifying potential improvements in daily activities.
• Works effectively within a team to meet deadlines and deliverables while ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Actively develops skills through hands-on experience and engagement in learning opportunities.
