Job summary

San Diego State University is seeking an Accounting Services professional to support accounts receivable, financial reporting, and month-end processes within a collaborative team. This non-exempt, full-time role offers a chance to apply GAAP knowledge and build expertise in campus operations.

The position supports day-to-day financial activities, partners with campus departments, and contributes to process improvements, with telecommuting up to two days per week after a training period.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and FASB; office methods and procedures; and data presentation.
• Advanced proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, browsers, query tools, and financial systems.
• Ability to analyze financial data and communicate with others.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across units.

Responsibilities

• Support accounts receivable cycle including maintenance, reporting, billing, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Review and analyze financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and procedures.
• Prepare financial reports and schedules to support month-end and year-end activities.
• Partner with campus departments to resolve questions and support daily operations.
• Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and accounting projects.
