Base pay range

$53,100.00/yr - $53,100.00/yr

Job Summary

The Staff Junior Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers, and performing general bookkeeping. The role also includes executing general office duties, accruals, reversals, monitoring fixed assets, reconciling AR & notes payable accounts, maintaining Safer Housing LLC ledger accounts, and payments for goods and services necessary for the basic operation of the accounting function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide auditors with information needed in a timely fashion.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Consult with operational managers to resolve financial and logistical questions.
  • Recommend system changes and upgrades to improve processes.
  • Assist in monitoring budgets to ensure adherence and modify when required.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation.
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations accurately and timely.
  • Maintain and reconcile various consultants’ schedules.
  • Serve as backup to other finance team members.
  • Allocate expenditures using the cost allocation plan for billing contract revenue.
  • Assist with funder/annual audits.
  • Manage accruals and reversals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in generalist accounting or finance preferred.
  • Proficiency with relational database accounting software, MIPS, and other accounting programs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools and online collaboration platforms.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field preferred.
