Job summary

Christian Academy School System – English Station in Louisville, KY is seeking a Junior Academy Substitute Teacher to support classrooms on a temporary, no-benefits basis starting immediately. The candidate must demonstrate a strong Christian testimony, attend church regularly, and be committed to the school's faith-based standards.

Experience with children is preferred, and candidate will assist teachers, prepare materials, and help supervise students.

Qualifications

• A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit.
• A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school.
• Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith for Christian Academy School System.
• Agreement and belief that The Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind.

Responsibilities

• Be under the general supervision of the Junior Academy Site Director and cooperate in a loyal and efficient manner
• Will be responsible for assisting the classroom teacher
• Shall care for and treat each child with dignity and respect
• Shall assist the children in getting prepared to leave in the afternoon
• Shall assist the classroom teacher when needed for the following: break, gathering of supplies/materials, emergency situation involving a child
• Shall keep the classroom properly stocked with paper goods needed for snack and lunch
• Shall help in preparation of necessary materials for lessons/activities
• Shall be substitute teacher when asked by Preschool Site Director
• Shall attend and participate in all Preschool staff meetings
• Shall participate in recommended training programs, workshops, courses, and other aspect so professional growth as needed in order to maintain certification
• Shall attend and participate in the Annual Orientation, Annual Open House, programs and other events sponsored by CAL Preschool
• Shall assure each child he/she is loved, that they have value, that God made them special (II Tim. 2:15) and will pray for each teacher and student daily
