Job description

Founded in 2019, Reveal is a dynamic startup revolutionizing field operations by delivering software tools and intelligence to operators in remote, disconnected, and extreme environments. Reveal is the Digital Arms Room for the Modern Warrior — providing the tactical intelligence and automation platform for physical, human, and digital terrain at the edge.

Our flagship products include Farsight, a 3D processing and mission‑planning platform that transforms complex terrain into an operational advantage, and Identifi, a secure identity‑verification solution designed for rapid, trusted identification in dynamic environments. In 2026, Reveal expanded its software portfolio to include Chronos (a training lifecycle management tool) and other technical products for electronic warfare, cyber operations, and precision targeting, further strengthening its capabilities across the modern battlefield.

Reveal exists to serve defense, security, and public safety missions where time is compressed, information is contested, and precision matters. We are scaling our team and technology to meet the accelerating demands of modern warfare and national security.

About the Role

This role is for a business development leader who understands the operational mission of the U.S. Special Operations Forces and can translate complex defense needs into scalable software solutions. You will lead Reveal’s engagement with national SOF stakeholders, drive strategic growth initiatives, and partner closely with engineering and business teams to deliver measurable impact across DoD programs. Success in this role requires deep sales experience with national SOF, strong executive relationships, and the ability to operate independently in a high‑stakes environment.

Location

This role is located in the greater Fort Bragg area (Fayetteville/Southern Pines, NC). Candidates must reside locally.

Responsibilities
  • Own and expand Reveal’s relationships across JSOC and Tier 1 SOF units, identifying mission‑critical gaps and translating them into actionable business opportunities.
  • Lead a team or teams of embedded or forward‑deployed personnel (FSRs, FSEs, Liaisons, Mission Manager) as the scope increases; maintain command and control of those teams across a wide range of units and organizations, each with their own operational nuances.
  • Integrate with operators, staff, and technical elements to surface real‑world problems, validate needs, and shape solutions that align with evolving mission sets (CT, precision strike, ISR, EW, autonomy, etc.).
  • Drive end‑to‑end opportunity development and capture from problem identification and concept shaping through pilot, transition, and scaled deployment.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to rapidly prototype, iterate, and field solutions in high‑tempo operational environments.
  • Build and execute a targeted BD strategy for Tier 1 customers, leveraging non‑traditional pathways (OTAs, SBIRs, STRATFI/TACFI, JCTDs, direct unit funding, rapid acquisition channels).
  • Maintain a deep awareness of SOF priorities, funding mechanisms, and programmatic pathways, including alignment with the U.S. Special Operations Command and its subordinate components.
  • Develop trusted relationships across operators, acquisition personnel, and technical leadership to shape requirements before formal programs exist.
  • Translate operational problems into clear technical requirements and compelling solution narratives for internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment between customer needs and Reveal’s roadmap, driving mission‑relevant product evolution and differentiation.
  • Represent Reveal within the SOF community, clearly articulating value in operational, not marketing, terms. This may include direct, frequent participation in large‑scale exercises from the Squadron to Command‑level.
Qualifications
  • Deep, proven experience operating in or selling into JSOC / Tier 1 SOF environments; prior service in a Tier unit strongly preferred; prior deployment experience with a Joint Task Force strongly preferred.
  • Existing trusted relationships within JSOC, SMUs, and the broader SOF ecosystem, with the ability to gain and maintain access.
  • Strong understanding of SOF mission sets, operational workflows, and technology gaps, particularly in software, ISR, data fusion, EW, autonomy, and tactical edge systems.
  • Demonstrated success navigating non‑traditional acquisition pathways (OTAs, rapid prototyping funds, unit‑level buys) and transitioning capabilities into programs of record when appropriate.
  • Experience working across the DoD and intelligence community, with a clear understanding of how to align capabilities to mission priorities.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and drive outcomes without formal requirements, shaping demand ahead of the acquisition cycle.
  • Proven ability to build and lead cross‑functional teams (BD, product, engineering) aligned around mission outcomes and rapid delivery.
  • Strong grasp of defense acquisition, contracting structures, and proposal processes, with emphasis on speed and adaptability over traditional FAR cycles.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (40–60%) to maintain proximity to units, exercises, and key stakeholders. Frequent travel to the National Capital Region; occasional travel to Tampa, FL.
  • Must be able to operate in secure environments and must hold a TS clearance and be eligible for SCI; applicant must have prior ACCM access and the ability to re‑obtain and maintain it.
  • Applicant must be able to maintain persistent access to information networks relevant to the customer set.
  • Location: Ft. Bragg / Fayetteville / Southern Pines Area.
Compensation
  • Salary $180k – $200k + Commission + Equity.
  • Salary is determined by the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
Benefits
  • Medical, Dental, Vision coverage.
  • HSA/FSA options.
  • Parental Leave.
  • 401(k): 100% match for the first 6% contributed.
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off.
  • Home Office Stipend.
