Job summary

FlightSafety Defense Corporation is seeking a JSE Mission Modeler to design, build, and execute mission scenarios for large‑force virtual training within the JSE/SCARS ecosystem. This role supports 100+ player exercises across multi‑site environments, integrating blue air, red air, and constructive forces using JSE tools and scripting.

You will collaborate with government offices and SMEs, coordinate with GRID services, and translate operational requirements into executable synthetic scenarios.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace/systems engineering, OR computer science; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years in military mission scenario development, constructive simulation, or distributed synthetic environment operations in a DoD context.
  • Hands-on experience with military scenario authoring tools and constructive simulation frameworks (e.g., AFSIM, JSAF, EADSIM, OneSAF, NGTS).
  • Familiarity with distributed simulation protocols (HLA, DIS, TENA) and connecting scenario entities to a networked synthetic environment.
  • Understanding of JSE architecture, GRID services, and the JSE Platform Package (JPP), including behavior files, Lua scripting, and entity state messages.
  • Operational knowledge of U.S. Air Force or U.S. Navy TTPs to author tactically credible training scenarios.
  • Experience supporting large‑force exercises (LFEs) or virtual training events with 50+ players in an LVC environment.
  • Strong technical writing and communication; experience producing scenario documentation, test plans, and AARs.
  • Active Secret clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mission scenarios for large-force virtual training within the JSE synthetic battlespace.
  • Integrate blue air, red air, constructive forces, and environmental conditions using JSE-compatible tools.
  • Maintain scenario behavior files, Lua scripts, mission planning configurations, and scenario control logic per JPP standards.
  • Coordinate with JSE GRID services for entity state, sensors, weapons, and line-of-sight services.
  • Collaborate with Government program offices, SMEs, and engineers to translate requirements into executable synthetic environment scenarios.
  • Support scenario validation events at JSE facilities and test events at government sites such as JITTC-E, NAWDC, and DTTR.
  • Develop and maintain scenario libraries across multiple mission profiles and force ratios with MLS security considerations.
