Jr Unix/ Linux Technician//Local to NY/NJ

Location: Totowa, NJ / Orangeburg, NY / Dayton, NJ (Candidates should be flexible to work at any of these locations depending on the client's needs, on all shifts)

Duration: 12 Months contract

Note: W2 - Candidates must be authorized to work for any employer; sponsorship not available.

Requirements:

  • Flexibility in work location and ability to work out of Middlesex County, NJ, Orangeburg, NY, or Totowa, NJ, on all shifts as needed
  • Availability to work varying hours, including weekends and nights

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in computer operations, with understanding of data centers and data communications
  • Experience working with Unix/Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, etc.)
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Salt or Ansible (preferably Salt)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Jira, SDLC, shell scripting (Bourne, Perl, Python), and open-source tools like Grafana, Splunk, Humio, Chef, Ruby, GitHub, Salt, Artifactory
