Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) is seeking an entry-level Targeting Analyst to support intelligence operations onsite at a government facility in Northern Virginia.

You will identify, analyze, and assess high-value targets using multiple data sources and analytical tools. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and an active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CBP Background Investigation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/retain CBP Background Investigation.
  • Proficiency with intelligence tools and databases (e.g., Palantir, Analyst Notebook, TAC, SIGINT tools).
  • Ability to work fully onsite; nights possible based on client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze intelligence data to identify and assess targets.
  • Develop targeting packages, reports, and briefings from multi-source intelligence.
  • Use advanced analytical tools and databases to track adversarial activities.
  • Support collection management and prioritize collection requirements.
  • Collaborate with IC partners and law enforcement to develop actionable intelligence.
  • Provide analytical support to operational planning and execution.
  • Prepare briefings and presentations for leadership and personnel.
  • Document analytical findings and assessments.

The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

The Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG) within JOID provides technical, programmatic and analytical support to customers with missions in national security to include the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Group brings technical and operational expertise in fields of countering weapons of mass destruction, critical infrastructure protection, emergency response, nuclear non-proliferation, weapons deployment programs, and transportation safety. In addition to management and advisory services, CIG staff collaborate closely with our clients to provide high-quality modeling, simulation, software, and analytical products to meet the most demanding government standards and timelines.

We have an immediate need for an entry-level Targeting Analyst to support intelligence operations by identifying, analyzing, and assessing high-value targets. This position will be onsite at a government facility in Northern Virginia.

Responsibilities

Conduct research and analysis of intelligence data to identify and assess potential targets. Assist with the development of targeting packages, reports, and briefings based on multi-source intelligence. Utilize advanced analytical tools, databases, and methodologies to track and assess adversarial activities. Support intelligence collection management and prioritize collection requirements. Collaborate with intelligence community (IC) partners and law enforcement agencies to develop actionable intelligence. Provide analytical support to operational planning and execution. Help assess the credibility and reliability of intelligence sources. Assist with the identification of patterns, trends, and emerging threats that impact national security or mission objectives. Help prepare and deliver briefings, reports, and presentations to senior leadership and operational personnel. Maintain detailed documentation of analytical findings and assessments. Ensure intelligence products align with mission priorities and policy guidelines.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and retain a CBP Background Investigation
  • Proficiency in intelligence tools, databases, and methodologies (e.g., Palantir, Analyst Notebook, TAC, SIGINT tools)
  • Able to work fully onsite with potential for shift work (nights) based on client needs
Desired
  • Active DHS Suitability or CBP Background Investigation
  • Understanding of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), signals intelligence (SIGINT), or human intelligence (HUMINT)
  • Military or government agency experience in targeting or intelligence operations
Pay Range Information
