Job Overview

Oak View Group, a global leader in venue development, management, and premium hospitality services, is seeking a Jr. Sous Chef for its Sky Project at Peak, located on the 101st floor of 30 Hudson Yards, NYC.

Responsibilities
  1. Support the Sous Chef in executing the restaurant menu and daily food preparations.
  2. Maintain high-quality food production while managing food costs through inventory tracking.
  3. Ensure all food preparations meet restaurant standards and specifications.
  4. Assist with food prep, cooking, and maintaining stock levels during service.
  5. Keep the work environment clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  6. Assist with kitchen administrative tasks such as inventory and ordering.
  7. Train and mentor kitchen staff to uphold quality and safety standards.
  8. Monitor food presentation, temperature, and sanitation to ensure excellence.
  9. Adhere to all food safety regulations and standards.
  10. Communicate effectively with team members and management.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory role in an upscale restaurant.
  • Serve Safe certification and State-issued Health Certificate.
  • Proficiency in food preparation techniques and computer software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a high-pressure environment.
Compensation & Benefits

This role offers an hourly wage of $24.00 to $27.00. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with matching, paid time off (vacation, sick days, holidays), and career growth opportunities.

Additional Information

This is an evergreen, full-time position with ongoing applications. Peak is a luxurious restaurant with panoramic views, situated above Edge, the highest outdoor observation deck in NYC.
