Job summary

TerraClear is seeking a Jr Software Development / Tech Support Engineer to join our hybrid team in Issaquah, WA. The role focuses on building and supporting TerraClear applications across Web, iOS, Android, and Linux platforms, with emphasis on real-time mapping and data processing.

You will work with Product Management and Engineering to implement frontend and backend features, stay current with dependencies, and participate in an Agile environment to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of relevant work experience in a commercial product environment.
• BS or MS in Software Engineering, CS, or related field.
• Fundamentals of computer science.
• Ability to leverage GenAI tools to accelerate development of software.
• Experience with REST-based backend services.
• Experience with Node.js, Angular/React, and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with MVC architecture.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Willingness to travel to field offices.

Responsibilities

• Build, debug and support real-time actionable mapping solutions that are reliable and high performance.
• Support real-time in-field image edge processing.
• Design, implement and deploy front-end elements, REST-based back-end services and database schemas across TerraClear’s application stack.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Software Engineering to review requirements and interface design.
• Ensure applications stay current with major 3rd party dependency releases and modern design practices.
• Work in Agile environment to prioritize tasks and deliver milestones on schedule.

Jr Software Development / Tech Support Engineer

Jr Software Development / Tech Support Engineer - Hybrid role based out of our Issaquah, WA headquarters

We are looking for a result-driven full-stack Software Development / Technical Support Engineer to participate in the development of TerraClear applications which span a range of target platforms (Web, iOS, Android, Linux). Your success will allow the company to enhance the customer experience, expedite availability of rock maps and scale our commercial rock mapping services.

In this role, you will:

• Build, debug and support real-time actionable mapping solutions that are highly reliable, innovative and high performance
• Support real-time in-field image edge processing
• Design, implement and deploy front-end elements, REST-based back-end services and database design schemas across TerraClear’s application stack
• Partner with Product Management and Software Engineering team members to review application functionality requirements and interface design
• Ensure our suite of applications remain current with major 3rd party dependency releases and current design / implementation practices
• Work in Agile environment to prioritize tasks and deliver technical milestones on schedule

Experience - Required:

• 1+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in commercial product environment
• BS or MS in Software Engineering, CS (or related field) or commensurate work experience
• Knowledge of computer science fundamentals
• Knowledge of how to leverage GenAI tools to expedite the design, development and debugging of commercial quality software applications
• Knowledge of REST-based backend services
• Knowledge of Node JS, Angular/React JS/TypeScript
• Knowledge of MVC architecture
• Strong communication, positive attitude and excellent team player
• Willingness to travel to our field offices and testing areas

Experience - Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Linux operating system
• Work experience with a relational database, preferably PostgreSQL
• Exposure to AWS services such as Lambda/API Gateway/SQS
• Proficiency in commercial SDLC processes, including source code management tools (GitHub)

Compensation Range = $80-125k
