Job summary

Chase Doors in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Junior Sales Application Engineer to support the design and development of customer projects. You will assist in the preparation of drawings, bills of materials, and proposals under guidance from the SAE team, while learning product applications, systems, and processes.

You will collaborate with Sales and senior engineers, gain exposure to project execution, and develop foundational customer-facing skills in a safety‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• Some college coursework or an Associate degree in engineering or technical field.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in CAD, drafting, or technical role.
• Basic knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Understanding of drafting principles.

Overview

The Junior Sales Application Engineer supports the design and development of customer projects by assisting in the preparation of drawings, bills of materials, and proposals. This role works closely with Sales and senior engineering team members to learn product applications, systems, and processes while contributing to project execution and customer support. Customer interaction at this level is limited and primarily observational or guided, with the goal of developing foundational skills for future customer‑facing responsibilities. We are searching for an experienced Jr. Sales Application Engineer at our Salt Lake City, UT facility.

Responsibilities

• Support design and execution of client projects under guidance of SAE or Sr. SAE.
• Assist in preparation of installation drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
• Support development of bills of materials, quotes, and proposals.
• Collaborate with Sales and internal teams to support project timelines.
• Learn product lines, applications, and design standards.
• Assist in resolving basic project issues and discrepancies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives including 5S and waste elimination.
• Participate in customer meetings alongside Sales or senior engineers for learning and development purposes.
• Support site visits, measurements, and installation activities as directed.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Promotes a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility by following established IMS procedures aligned with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Some college coursework, Associate degree, or higher education in an engineering or technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant hands‑on experience.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in CAD, drafting, or technical role.
• Basic knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Understanding of drafting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication and willingness to learn.

Physical Requirements

• This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Occasional walking and standing in a manufacturing environment may be required.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
• Regular use of office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and scanners.
• May require occasional visits to the production floor, where safety precautions such as PPE may be necessary. The work environment is primarily an office setting, with some exposure to manufacturing areas that may include noise, machinery, and temperature fluctuations.
