Jr Rocket Propulsion Engineer

Location: Indian Head, MD | Department: Engineering Services | Type: Full-Time | Min. Experience: Entry-Level | Salary Range: $86,000 to $101,000 USD per year

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Join ATR's Engineering Services Division as an entry-level Engineer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division, MD.
• Work on military programs supporting US Navy Warfare technology, specifically within the Surface Systems Branch.
• Support rocket motor and energetic component In-Service and production engineering, including fleet failure investigations, energetic components testing, and configuration management of technical data.

Education & Experience Requirements

• BSc in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• At least 1 year of engineering experience.
• Experience with rocket motor propulsion design, analysis, or fundamentals is preferred.
• Experience with DoD projects is a plus.

Skills & Abilities Requirements

• Analytical skills related to mechanical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
• Experience with MATLAB, CAD software (Creo or SolidWorks) is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with ordnance and explosives testing is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, manage multiple projects, and adapt to a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in report writing and documentation.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Other Requirements

Candidate must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOD security clearance. A current security clearance is a plus.
