Position: Junior Railcar Inspector / Estimator

Location: Beaumont | $17-$19/hr Starting | Full-Time | Entry-Level with Career Growth

Iron Horse Rail Services is hiring a Junior Railcar Inspector / Estimator to support our inspection and estimating team in a hands-on, fast-paced railcar service environment. This is a boots-on-the-ground opportunity with clear advancement pathways, strong mentorship, and exposure to a key part of our operations.

What You'll Do:

  1. Assist senior inspectors in the field by collecting photos, documentation, and repair data
  2. Learn how to read work orders and input data using computers/tablets (we are 100% paper-free)
  3. Help put together basic estimates under guidance
  4. Move around our terminal gathering info from the field and shop teams
  5. Work across departments to ensure accurate, timely, and safe work is being completed
  6. Learn the railcar repair industry from the ground up

What We're Looking For:

  • Self-motivated go-getter with strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Mechanically inclined (welding knowledge is a plus!)
  • Fast learner with the desire to grow into a high-skill, higher-pay role
  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working with tablets, photos, documents, and cloud-based software
  • Willing to work long hours and take ownership in a role that impacts all departments
  • Not afraid to speak up when something doesn't look right and knows how to do it constructively
