Emerald Technologies in Brea, CA is seeking a Jr. Process Engineer to support process improvements, refine manufacturing methods, and drive efficiency across PCBA production.

You'll work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and compliance while learning advanced manufacturing techniques in a dynamic EMS environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field (preferred).
• 1-2 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of electronic components, PCBs, and PCBAs.

Responsibilities

• Support process improvements and assist in developing new or updated manufacturing processes to meet production goals.
• Collect and analyze production data to identify opportunities for optimization, efficiency, and waste reduction.
• Assist in creating and maintaining process documentation, including process flow diagrams, SOPs, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot process issues and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
• Support the installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment, tools, and technologies.
• Participate in safety reviews and risk assessments to ensure safe and compliant manufacturing practices.
• Train and support production personnel on process improvements, equipment operation, and best-practice assembly techniques.

Qualifications of the Jr. Process Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 1-2 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of electronic components, Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs).
• Familiarity with SMT/PCBA production equipment such as screen printers, reflow ovens, pick-and-place machines, and through-hole automation.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding assembly techniques for through-hole, surface-mount, and mixed-technology builds.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.

Schedule & Budgeted Hours

Shift Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Paid Hours Per Day: 8 hours (includes one 30-minute unpaid meal break).

Overtime: May be required based on production needs and will be compensated in accordance with California labor law.

Budgeted Hours

Budgeted Weekly Hours: 40 hours (5 shifts x 8 hours).

Overtime: May be required based on production needs and will be compensated in accordance with California labor law.
