Job description

This is a 100% remote position open to candidates in the United States.

About the role

As a Managed Services Engineer in our PLM Services division, you will help operate and support Siemens Teamcenter environments for Applied CAx customers. You will serve as a primary point of coordination for incoming support requests, ensuring issues are quickly triaged, actively managed, resolved where possible, and escalated appropriately when additional expertise is required. This is an early-career role designed for a technically strong, highly organized candidate who wants to build hands-on Teamcenter expertise through structured Siemens training, certification, mentoring, and customer experience.

About Applied CAx

Applied CAx is dedicated to providing innovative companies with customized, high-quality digital solutions. As a boutique services provider of Siemens Digital Industries Software, our expert engineers improve methods from PLM architecture and design optimization to CAM tool paths and CAE meshing. Since 2008, our team has been committed to helping businesses maximize the value of their digital tools through expert software licensing, training, and technical support.

Recognized as the Siemens Digital Industries Software 2023 Partner of The Year for North America, we primarily support the aerospace and defense, and energy industries. Come make an impact in innovation through engineering. We are always looking to recruit top-notch talent.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for incoming Managed Services support requests across assigned customers.
  • Monitor, classify, prioritize, and triage incoming tickets so each issue has clear ownership, priority, and next steps.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Teamcenter technical and administrative issues within the individual’s level of training and experience.
  • Gather relevant technical information, reproduce issues where possible, and develop clear problem statements before escalation.
  • Create, document, manage, and actively follow Siemens Global Technical Access Center (GTAC) cases through resolution.
  • Coordinate between customers, Siemens GTAC, and Applied CAx technical specialists to obtain information, remove blockers, and drive open issues forward.
  • Maintain accurate ticket status, customer communications, technical notes, aging, priorities, and resolution information while monitoring service-level commitments.
  • Provide timely, professional customer updates on issue status, actions, dependencies, and next steps, and escalated complex issues to senior technical resources when appropriate.
  • Prepare Managed Services reporting on ticket volume, status, aging, trends, resolution metrics, and open actions for customer service reviews.
  • Document successful resolutions, contribute to troubleshooting guides and reusable support methods, identify recurring issue patterns, and progressively expand independent technical capability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical education in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or another related technical discipline.
  • 0-2 years of relevant professional, internship, technical support, engineering, IT, software, or customer-facing experience. Recent graduates with strong technical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
  • Prior Siemens Teamcenter experience is not required. The selected candidate will be expected to complete assigned Siemens Teamcenter training and certification as part of onboarding and development.
  • Strong technical aptitude with demonstrated ability to learn complex software, enterprise systems, and technical concepts quickly.
  • Strong analytical and structured troubleshooting skills, including the ability to gather information, isolate problems, document findings, and methodically work toward resolution.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous open issues, priorities, follow-ups, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong sense of ownership and follow-through, with the persistence to drive issues to completion rather than simply pass them to another resource.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to clearly document technical issues, actions, status, and resolutions.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly with customers in a professional consulting and support environment.
  • Ability to recognize when an issue should be escalated and provide senior technical resources with clear, complete information to accelerate resolution.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with engineers, Solution Architects, project managers, customers, and software vendors.
  • Experience with or exposure to ticketing, issue-management, or case-management systems such as Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk, Salesforce, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of Windows environments, databases, networking, application servers, or enterprise software architecture is preferred.
  • Exposure to PLM, ERP, MES, CAD, engineering applications, or other enterprise software platforms is a plus. Familiarity with Siemens Teamcenter, Active Workspace, NX, or Siemens Xcelerator is especially valuable.
  • Experience interacting directly with customers or end users to troubleshoot technical issues, document processes, or provide status updates is preferred.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving, multi-client environment while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and high-quality customer service.
  • Ability to travel to client sites when necessary and a strong interest in developing toward broader Teamcenter engineering, implementation, administration, and solution consulting responsibilities over time.
