Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a manufacturing associate to support machining operations, including setup, teardown, and loading of parts and tooling. You will read programs from the central database and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and other gauges while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The role offers multiple shifts with overtime opportunities and shift differentials; full-time employment with a broad benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Able to work second shift Mon-Thu (4PM-2:30AM) or Special Work Week Shift Fri-Sun (4AM-4:30PM).

Key Responsibilities

• Setup/teardown of machine tools - Load and/or unload jaws, fixtures, tooling as needed.
• Download programs from central database.
• Read and understand programs to better understand process.
• Load and unload parts from machine.
• Utilize measuring equipment for frequent inspection of in-process and finished product to control quality through the machining process. Including micrometers, calipers, Pi tapes, rail gauges, etc.
• Monitor cutting tools and make adjustments as needed, make machine offsets and index or change inserts as needed.
• Make tooling changes as needed to improve process.
• Keep immediate area clean and orderly.

Work Schedule and Pay

Our ideal candidate is motivated by daily and weekend overtime.

• 1st Shift: Monday - Friday (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
• 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday (4:00 PM - 2:30 AM) "4-10's"
• 2nd shift differential pay of $3/hour is in addition to base pay
• SWW Shift: Friday - Sunday (4:00 AM - 4:30 PM) "3-12's"
• SWW shift differential pay of $2/hour is in addition to base pay

Desired Qualifications

Summary Pay Range

$22.63 - $33.95
