Job Description

Our client located in the Chicago Loop is looking for a Jr level Linux Systems Engineer to join their infrastructure team in this direct hire position. This company has doubled in size over the last 6 months and offers significant career growth.

Responsibilities:

• Remote administration and deployments
• Maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated infrastructure configuration
• Desktop support, PBX and network management
• Design and uphold documentation and procedures
• Work closely with client IT personnel

Requirements:

• 2+ years of Linux and any of the LAMP stack technologies such as Apache, Java / JVM, MySQL, and PHP, Ruby, Perl (or Python)
• Desktop support, client services, or other user interaction
• Web-based startup experience
• Automated configuration deployment and systems scripting
• Understanding of HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS / BIND, LDAP, SMTP
• VMWare, KVM, Xen or AWS
• DevOps and Continuous Delivery ability
• Team oriented, collaborative, excellent problem solving, verbal & written communication skills
