Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is looking for an individual to operate waterjet equipment in Whitehall Township, MI. Responsibilities include performing tensile, stress, creep, and hardness testing in a lab environment. Ideal candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with at least two years of relevant experience. Experience with lab environments and strong analytical skills are preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position with no visa sponsorship available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of post-high school work experience or 6 months manufacturing experience.
• 1+ years of lab experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operation of waterjet equipment for mechanical test and metallography sample sectioning.
• Performing tensile, stress, creep, and hardness testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Ability to read and understand blueprints

Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Location: One Misco Drive, Whitehall, MI, 49461-1799, US (On-site)
• Job Schedule: Full time

Responsibilities

This Off shift position will be located in our Research and Development Operation. Key responsibilities will include:

• Operation of waterjet equipment for mechanical test and metallography sample sectioning
• Performing tensile, stress, creep, and hardness testing
• Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of two years of consistent post‑high school work experience; or 6 months manufacturing experience.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of lab experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Experience with CAD and programming software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work in a self‑directed or team environment
• Strong organizational skills
• Must have a desire to learn and be collaborative in a manufacturing environment
