ActioNet has an opportunity for a Jr. Installation Engineer. This role is remote and based in Suitland, MD.

Job Description:

  • Conduct site surveys to assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements.
  • Design and optimize network topologies based on assessment data.
  • Follow engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages (TDP).
  • Develop installation schedules and collaborate with the network installation team to ensure timely completion.
  • Assist in preparing drawings and documenting configuration changes at each site.
  • Prepare site installation and test reports to ensure that installation meets specified requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveys and evaluate existing network configurations.
  • Develop and optimize network topologies based on site requirements and assessments.
  • Work with the network installation team to ensure proper installation and configuration of network components.
  • Document configuration changes and update site-specific drawings.
  • Ensure that installation processes follow established engineering plans and technical design packages.
  • Generate installation and test reports to track progress and confirm successful installation.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in network installation or related IT roles.
  • Knowledge of network design and topology optimization.
  • Familiarity with conducting site surveys and documenting user requirements.
  • Experience following technical design packages and installation schedules.
  • Strong ability to prepare and maintain installation and test reports.
  • Certifications/Training:
    • ITIL, Vendor Specific (Cisco, BCSI, etc.), and/or CompTIA, or similar training.
