Job summary

North Newton School Corporation seeks a Head Junior High Cheerleading Sponsor to lead and oversee the junior high cheer program. The sponsor will promote school spirit, teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership among student participants while developing cheerleaders' skills and supporting the school's mission.

The successful candidate will organize practices, coordinate game-day activities, and represent the program professionally to students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to be a positive role model for students.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to teach and develop cheer skills, routines, and game-day expectations.
• Previous cheerleading coaching or sponsorship experience preferred.
• Ability to work cooperatively with school staff, students, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise cheer practices and performances.
• Prepare cheerleaders to support athletic events and promote school spirit.
• Teach cheers, chants, and basic routines appropriate for junior high level participants.
• Coordinate schedules with the athletic department for games and events.
• Communicate team expectations, schedules, and policies with students and parents.
• Ensure proper supervision of students at all practices, games, and school-sponsored activities.
• Assist with uniform and equipment inventory and communicate needs to the Athletic Director.
• Promote sportsmanship and positive representation of the school at all events.
• Work collaboratively with school administration and athletic staff.
