HEALTHCARE REGULATORY ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

A top-10 AmLaw firm is seeking a driven Junior Associate Attorney to join its leading Healthcare Regulatory Practice Group in DC, New York, or Chicago. This role offers early exposure to complex regulatory counseling and transactional support across the health care and life sciences industries, including digital health, private equity, and telehealth.

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.
  • 2–3 years of substantive experience in healthcare regulatory matters at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks, including fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, corporate practice of medicine, licensing, and reimbursement issues.
  • Experience supporting healthcare transactions, including private equity and M&A, particularly in regulatory diligence and structuring.
  • Familiarity with advising telehealth and digital health companies or interest in growing within these sectors.
  • Background in or exposure to government agencies such as CMS, OCR, DOJ, or FDA is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regulatory counseling on a broad range of healthcare issues for clients across the provider, life sciences, and digital health landscapes.
  • Support due diligence and regulatory structuring in private equity, M&A, and investment transactions.
  • Draft and review legal memoranda, agreements, compliance policies, and other client deliverables.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to advise on complex compliance and operational issues.
  • Stay current on regulatory developments and participate in firm thought leadership.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Annual base salary is expected to range from $235,000 – $260,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and market factors. Discretionary bonus opportunities are also available.
