FashionUnited in New York is seeking a Jr. Cost Accounting Associate to ensure import documents by division and approve freight and duty bills.

The role supports month-end and quarter-end closing for the Wholesale Footwear business and is based in our LIC office on-site five days per week. Key responsibilities include breaking down charges by division, preparing duty allocations, auditing sea freight bills, checking shipping documents, listing brokers in Excel, and supporting closing processes.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Break down duties, freight charges, broker’s fee, and trucking charges by style/PO by division.
• Prepare and upload data of duty allocation by shipment.
• Audit and approve sea freight bills under contracts with carriers.
• Check documents sent with shipping advices.
• List approved brokers in Excel.
• Support in month and quarter end closing.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines with available resources.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job description

The Jr. Cost Accounting Associate is responsible for ensuring import documents by division & approval of freight and duty bills. Supports in Month end and Qtr. end closing. This position supports the Wholesale Footwear business.

The responsibilities described below are considered essential functions of the role. This position is based in our LIC office and requires working on-site five days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Breakdown the duties, freight charges, broker’s fee, & trucking charges by style/purchase order by division
• Prepare and upload data of duty allocation by shipment
• Audit & approve bills for sea freight charges shipped under our direct or in-direct contracts with carriers
• Check documents sent with shipping advices
• List approved broker into excel sheet
• Support in month and quarter end closing
• Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $24.00 - $26.00/Hr. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
