Job summary

Steve Madden is seeking a Jr. Cost Accounting Associate to ensure import documents by division and approval of freight and duty bills. This on-site role supports the Wholesale Footwear business from our LIC office.

You will assist in month- and quarter-end closing, breakdown duties and charges by PO and division, and prepare duty allocations by shipments. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience in related field.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with accounting/important preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Breakdown the duties, freight charges, broker’s fee, & trucking charges by style/purchase order by division
• Prepare and upload data of duty allocation by shipment
• Audit & approve bills for sea freight charges shipped under our direct or in-direct contracts with carriers
• Check documents sent with shipping advices
• List approved broker into excel sheet
• Support in month and quarter end closing
• Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

General Summary

The Jr. Cost Accounting Associate is responsible for ensuring import documents by division & approval of freight and duty bills. Supports in Month end and Qtr. end closing. This position supports the Wholesale Footwear business. The responsibilities described below are considered essential functions of the role. This position is based in our LIC office and requires working on-site five days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Breakdown the duties, freight charges, broker’s fee, & trucking charges by style/purchase order by division
• Prepare and upload data of duty allocation by shipment
• Audit & approve bills for sea freight charges shipped under our direct or in-direct contracts with carriers
• Check documents sent with shipping advices
• List approved broker into excel sheet
• Support in month and quarter end closing

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $24.00 - $26.00/Hr. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
