Job description

Caltrol, Inc is seeking a full-time Manual Machinist / Technician to join our Service Group.

Responsibilities include:

1. Operating manual turning lathes, mills, horizontal and vertical boring machines to machine components to factory specifications.
2. Ensuring safety and attention to detail in all tasks.
3. Machine parts to specifications, check valve components, and write Non-Conformance reports when defects are found.
4. Set-up, indicate, and recondition relief valve parts to OEM specs.
5. Work with technicians to evaluate parts and check critical dimensions.
6. Operate and maintain manual machinery such as mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses.
7. Assist with field assignments and other duties as needed, including customer pickups and deliveries, and assisting with pressure relief valve testing and assembly.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years machining experience or trade school equivalent.
• Ability to operate manual lathes, mills, and boring machines.
• Experience with hand and power tools, calipers, and height gauges.
• Basic computer skills and excellent math skills.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Availability for overtime, including weekends and last-minute emergency work.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of control valves and mechanical systems.
• Engineering experience and customer service skills.

Work Environment and Benefits:
