Jr. Civil Engineer - Akron, Ohio - JOB 25-01249

Salary Range: $60K - $70K

Position: Permanent with Benefits

Location: Akron area, Ohio

Design firm is seeking a Junior Level Civil Engineer to assist with building envelope engineering design, including the entire exterior shell of a building such as walls, roof, foundation, glazing, and curtain walls.

REQUIREMENTS
  1. Recent graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
  2. 0 – 5 years of work experience with basic structural engineering principles, analysis to determine design loads, member analysis, section properties, and allowable stresses
  3. Proficient in operating computer software to support calculations under close supervision
  4. Proficient in AUTOCAD to support engineering and drafting projects, and capable of interpreting architectural and structural drawings
  5. Ability to check shop drawings against architectural and structural drawings, reviewing for technical accuracy
  6. Provide field support, including observations during construction, shop assembly, manufacturer visits, and testing
  7. Detail-oriented and organized
  8. Knowledge of deadload/windload connections, thermal movement, live-load and dead-load considerations, and system air/water integrity is highly preferred

Candidates must pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
