Job Position Summary:

Responsible to secure the best possible pricing and lead time with vendors by conducting market research and negotiating contracts. They support the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services.

Jr. Buyer Grade 5 – Entry

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to safety regulation and standard. Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
• Reviews requisitions and creates purchase orders, then monitors order status to ensure timely delivery.
• Finding and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Work with ERP System to maintain accuracy of purchase orders to clearly communicate availability dates and quantities to internal customers.
• Purchase items at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, vendors, and internal departments.
• Maintain current and potential source information in connection with materials and responsible for file management on all Raw material certs.
• Coordinate internal and external logistics for pickup/drop-off and truck maintenance.
• Follow 6s Procedures and maintains a clean organized work area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

• Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.

Physical Requirements

• Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
• May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
• Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
