Job description

Tessolve is looking for a Junior Bench AMS (Analog Mixed-Signal) Validation Engineer to join our silicon validation team in San Diego. You’ll help bring up, characterize and validate analog and mixed-signal ICs on the lab bench, and work with design, test and product teams to get silicon to production.

About the Role

In this role you will validate AMS silicon on the bench, building and running test setups to measure device performance against specifications. It’s a strong entry point for an engineer who wants hands‑on lab experience in analog, power and mixed‑signal validation.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform bench bring‑up and characterization of AMS ICs (e.g., power management, ADC/DAC, PLL, amplifiers, interfaces)
  • Set up and debug lab test boards, probe stations and instruments
  • Measure and verify key parameters across process, voltage and temperature (PVT) conditions
  • Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, source‑measure units, function generators and spectrum analyzers
  • Write and run automated test scripts (Python, LabVIEW or similar) to speed up data collection
  • Analyze data, spot anomalies and help root‑cause silicon or board issues
  • Prepare test plans, characterization reports and summaries for design teams
  • Work with design, test and applications teams, and follow lab safety and documentation practices

What You Bring

  • BS/MS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or a related field)
  • 0-3 years of experience in bench validation, lab characterization or analog circuit testing (internships and academic projects count)
  • Solid fundamentals in analog circuits: op‑amps, regulators, references, data converters, filters
  • Hands‑on experience with standard lab instruments
  • Basic scripting skills (Python preferred) and an interest in automation
  • Strong debugging, analytical and communication skills
  • Nice to have: exposure to ATE , PMICs, SerDes or PLLs, schematic/PCB reading, or instrument control with SCPI/GPIB

What We Offer

  • Hands‑on exposure to real silicon and leading‑edge semiconductor projects
  • Mentorship and a clear growth path in validation and test engineering
  • Learning and upskilling opportunities
  • A collaborative, engineering‑driven culture
  • Competitive compensation and benefits
