Opportunity for some Prevailing Wage Work
Basic Function
Installation of solar panels on commercial and pitched roofs
Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading equipment into work trucks
- Safely climbing ladders and navigating steep roof planes
- Mounting racking, modules, and electrical equipment
- Electrical wiring of solar array (AC and DC)
- Leaving job sites clean and orderly
- Providing knowledge to customers at the time of install
- (Other duties as necessary)
Requirements
- Punctuality
- Ability to work well with a team
- Knowledge of commercial electrical systems
- Knowledge of pulling large feeder circuits 277, 480V
- Knowledge of working with Rigid, IMC, and cable tray raceways
- Use of cell phone for clocking in and out
- Willingness to work in hot and cold weather
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- A willingness and ability to learn, take direction, and retain newly learned skills
- OSHA 30 or better (can be received after hiring)
- Overtime and weekend work may be required
- Other duties as assigned by foreman/crew leaders and management
Preferred Skills
- Previous solar installation experience (grid-tied PV systems), 1-2 years
- Ability to interpret plans and string charts
- Prior experience in Commercial Construction/Electrical, 2+ years
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and lift materials weighing up to 70 lbs unassisted
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to sit, climb, or balance
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, or poles
- Ability to work on flat or pitched roofs
- Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures
- Ability to utilize aerial equipment for roof access

Salary: $19-22/hr
