Job summary

PACS Group is seeking an accounting assistant to support the accounting department with daily and monthly tasks, including reviewing, maintaining, and preparing reports. You will help ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies in a collaborative finance team.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, may be enrolled in a bachelor’s in accounting, strong MS Excel skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Review expense and credit card reimbursement reports for accuracy and alignment with company policy.

  • Prepare internal schedules needed for account reconciliations; including accessing third party data for reconciliation.
  • Assist in document gathering and organization.
  • Performs end-of-month procedures as required.
  • Preparation and posting of journal entries to accounting software.

General Purpose

The primary purpose of your job position is to assist the accounting department with management of daily and monthly tasks including but not limited to reviewing, maintaining, and preparing reports/information.

Essential Duties
  • Review expense and credit card reimbursement reports for accuracy and alignment with company policy for appropriate expense and coding designations.
  • Review invoices for miscodes and correct.
  • Apply consistent and impartial set of guidelines to expenses and invoices.
  • Prepare internal schedules needed for account reconciliations; including accessing third party partners for data and reports necessary to prepare the reconciliation.
  • Assist in document gathering and organization.
  • Performs end-of-month procedures as required.
  • May be asked to perform analytical processes or procedures.
  • Preparation and posting of journal entries to accounting software.
  • Operates standard office equipment to include: calculator, photocopy machine, facsimile machine, computer, printer and multi-line telephone.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain data privacy and confidentiality.
  • Contribute to team success by achieving due dates and team goals.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience

Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED.

Ideally should be enrolled in a secondary program leading to a bachelor's degree in accounting or similar degree program.

Language Skills

Strong verbal communications skills, ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge in clerical functions and computer literacy. Proficiency in MS Excel is preferred. Must have knowledge of office machines and equipment.
