Job summary

Joybird is seeking a Store Manager in Fairfax, VA to lead a team, execute store operations, and deliver outstanding customer service while meeting financial targets. You’ll mentor staff, schedule, and uphold Joybird’s mission and values on the floor.

In this role you’ll become an expert on the Joybird catalog, drive sales, manage payroll, recruit top talent, and partner with regional leadership to optimize performance. Availability in evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Store Managers work very closely with our Regional Manager of Retail to ensure our ongoing success. This role focuses primarily on building a team of exceptional associates, executing processes and procedures that help us consistently provide amazing customer service, and ensuring that the store exceeds defined financial performance targets.Job Description:KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):Coach and mentor others and be a self-starter able to identify problems and quickly implement solutions.Drive sales in the retail location. Pays close attention to financial performance, reporting out to the Lead team and key stakeholders.Become an expert on the full Joybird catalog and provide style advice and product recommendations to suit a customer’s unique needs.Oversee the Leadership and Design Consultant team to create programs and initiatives to make our customers’ experiences even better.Share your valuable insight with our product, marketing and technology teams regarding customer needs and feedback.Manage scheduling and payroll to effectively meet the needs of the business and company expectations.Maintain operational excellence implementing key policies, procedures, training and initiatives with your team.Recruit, develop and retain top talent with exceptional customer service.Use KPIs and reporting to create business solutions and exceed sales targets.Open and close the store, execute system opening and closing procedures, and handle cash where appropriate.Lead, uphold and embrace Joybird’s mission and core values.SCOPE & IMPACT:This role is responsible for overall financial performance of the retail showroom – targets currently range from $5 - $8M annually.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related study preferred; or equivalent experience.3-5 years of retail management experience.Available and adaptable and are able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and experience in building effective and productive working relationshipsStrong business acumenStrong attention to detailGoal oriented – Energetically focuses efforts on meeting goals, mission or objectiveProven history of managing a team, improving team’s performance and productivityPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Proven analytical ability utilizing information technologies in managing the business to translate into strategic plansProven track record of customer service excellenceThorough understanding of profit and loss, strongly preferredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for directly leading the leadership and sales team of the store – up to a team of 10PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:You are energized by leading from the front and are able to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.You are able to lift and mobilize medium to large items up to 50lbsYou are able to use appropriate equipment and safety techniquesOTHER DUTIES: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the incumbent for this job. Monthly bonus opportunity of up to $1000 based on your ability to meet specific sales goalsThe Compensation Range is at least the local applicable minimum wage and up to the high-earning average target for this role. Individual pay is based on various factors, including geographic location, personal performance and relevant qualifications, experience, skills, and education.
