Job Location: Arrowhead Products - Los Alamitos, CASalary Range: $38.48 - $38.48 Hourly
Job Shift: 2nd Shift
Job Summary:

The Journeyman Welder shall be knowledgeable of all aspects of welding. They perform the most difficult welds, including titanium, welds requiring x-ray inspection, and other critical welds. They must be capable of certifying in stainless steel, inconel as required by specifications, and share knowledge with other welders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and weld aerospace products (flex joint).
  • Set up and operate welding machines independently.
  • Follow manufacturing processes per MEP 1000-01.
  • Maintain quality and productivity standards.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by management.
  • Weld metal thicknesses from 0.010 to 0.250 inch.
  • Maintain and advise on welding equipment and consumables.
  • Assist and share knowledge with other welders.
  • Develop new weld schedules as needed.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and correct welding problems and defects.
  • Develop shop aides for welding processes.
  • Achieve internal certifications for various materials within 90 days.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Education and Experience:

High School Diploma, Trade School Welding Certificate, or equivalent; manufacturing experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Minimum 5 years' GTAW experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of GTAW processes.
  • Ability to weld manually and operate mechanized equipment.
  • Interpret weld symbols, drawings, and specifications.
  • Recognize and troubleshoot welding issues.
  • Use standard measuring instruments accurately.
  • Work with tight tolerances.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Reliable and punctual.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Physical Demands:

Frequent lifting, reaching, bending, standing, walking, and use of tools and equipment.

Special Requirements:
  • Pass visual acuity exam (20/30 or better).
  • Subject to drug screening due to FAA safety classification.
