Job summary

Strohwig Industries Inc in Richfield, WI is seeking a Journeyman Toolmaker (Toolmaker III) for both 1st and 2nd shifts. Earn a 15% shift premium on the 2nd shift and a pay range of $42.00 to $56.00 per hour.

You will build, repair, and optimize tooling, read blueprints, operate CNC/EDM equipment, and mentor junior toolmakers. The role offers a full-time, on-site environment with opportunities to advance in a growing precision manufacturing company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of Toolmaker experience.
• Experience with molds, dies, or precision tooling.
• Strong blueprint reading and machining skills.
• Experience with manual machine tools and CNC equipment.
• Strong understanding of precision measurement and inspection.
• Experience with tool assembly, fitting, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and optimize tooling, dies, molds, fixtures, and precision components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and specifications to manufacture tooling that meets demanding requirements.
• Operate manual machine tools, CNC equipment, EDM machines, grinders, and lathes.
• Assemble, fit, and adjust tooling components to achieve precise tolerances.
• Inspect finished tooling using advanced measuring equipment to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement improvements that increase reliability, productivity, and tool life.
• Work closely with Engineering, Production, Programming, and Quality to support manufacturing success.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives involving tooling design and manufacturing processes.
• Mentor Toolmaker I and II team members while sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support preventive maintenance efforts.
