Job Description

Amity Die and Stamping is seeking an experienced Journeyman Tool and Die Maker to build and maintain components for various dies. The position is on 1st Shift, with a 40-hour work week and overtime as needed. The role reports directly to the Tool Room Manager.

Candidates must be able to stand for long periods, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle objects. Good hearing and vision are required for communication and inspection tasks. The work environment varies from low-moderate noise in the Tool Room to moderate-loud on the production floor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to the Quality Policy and ISO 9001-2015 standards.
• Build and modify components for tooling based on customer requirements.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment to ensure production continuity.
• Perform machine changeovers on multi-part tooling.
• Support tooling needs across various departments.
• Communicate effectively with managers regarding work status.
• Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Contribute to team efforts and achieve related results.
• Accurately record time spent on tasks.
• Follow instructions from shop travelers and other directives.
• Report machine or component issues to supervisors and quality concerns to QA.
• Lift objects weighing 30-50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

Skills and Knowledge:

• High School Diploma and TMA certificate or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Journeyman.
• Experience in manufacturing industry.
• Proficient in operating tool room equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to follow procedures in line with ISO standards.
• Good communication skills in English; Spanish bilingual is a plus.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Team player with dependability and punctuality.
• Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD is advantageous.
