PacifiCorp seeks a skilled Substation Journeyman Wireman to join our team in Hurricane, UT, delivering safe, reliable power and maintaining critical substation infrastructure.

You will work with advanced equipment, perform testing and troubleshooting, and uphold strict safety standards in a demanding energy environment. The role requires a journeyman in training or completion of our program and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Must be a substation journeyman or a journeyman presently enrolled in the substation journeyman training program in good standing.
• Must complete the substation journeyman training program.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, adjust, troubleshoot and repair substation equipment including transformers, regulators, load tap changers, breakers, bus work, wiring, battery banks and chargers.
• Operate substation equipment, including switching and grounding.
• Perform testing on substation apparatus such as power factor, transformer turns ratio, megger, ductor, battery load testing, oil sampling and otherTests as assigned.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following safety rules and practices.
• Work in confined spaces or elevated work areas (ladders, scaffolds, buckets, boom trucks).
• May work independently or with others and may endure long hours during emergencies.

General Purpose

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Substation Journeyman Wireman to join our team and play a critical role in delivering safe, reliable power to the communities we serve. As a Substation Journeyman, you will apply your expertise in substation equipment, apparatus, control systems, and wiring to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair critical infrastructure that keeps the power flowing. You'll work alongside experienced professionals in a safety-focused environment, tackling challenging projects and helping support the future of energy.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, adjust, troubleshoot and repair substation equipment which includes, but is not limited to transformers, regulators, load tap changers, circuit breakers, circuit switchers, motor-operated and manual switches, bus work, wiring, battery banks and chargers, and substation structures.
• Operate substation equipment, including switching and grounding.
• Perform testing on substation apparatus such as power factor, transformer turns ratio, megger, ductor, battery load testing, oil sampling, and other analytical tests as assigned.
• Consistently maintains and provides a safe working environment, following safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, actively maintaining and accident-free work place.
• Physical requirements may include working in confined spaces and in elevated work areas such as heights from ladders, structures, scaffolds, buckets and boom trucks.
• May work independently or with others, occasionally work long hours during emergency conditions, and be responsible for tools, test equipment, and vehicles.
