Job summary

Eckard Roofing in Truckee, CA is seeking a Journeyman Roofer / Lead Installer to join our mountain-based team. This role specializes in high-altitude residential and commercial roofing with top-tier gear and a strong focus on safety.

You will install and repair roofs, mentor apprentices, and pursue advancement to Foreman with our mentorship. A valid driver's license is required, and the company provides a vehicle.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of true Journeyman-level roofing experience.
• Comfortable working at heights in varying High Sierra weather.
• Reliable, punctual, and leads by example.
• Valid Driver’s License required to operate the company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Install & repair residential and commercial roofs (asphalt, metal, single-ply) for high-altitude conditions.
• Handle complex flashings and intricate details to keep roofs watertight.
• Lead on the roof as a mentor to apprentices and support the Foreman.
• Maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant, highly organized job site.

Eckard Roofing is looking for a highly skilled Journeyman Roofer to join our dedicated team in Truckee. We know that roofing in the mountains is different—it requires tougher gear, higher safety standards, and a crew that looks out for each other.

What You Will Be Doing

• Installation & Repair: Execute high-quality residential and commercial roofing systems (Asphalt, Metal, and Single-Ply) tailored for high-altitude conditions.
• Technical Craftsmanship: Expertly handle complex flashings and intricate details that are critical to keeping mountain homes completely watertight.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Step up as a leader on the roof by mentoring apprentices and providing essential support to the job site Foreman.
• Safety & Site Management: Maintain a clean, highly organized, and strictly OSHA-compliant job site at all times.

What You Need To Succeed (Qualifications)

• Experience: 4+ years of true Journeyman-level roofing experience. You must know the tools, the materials, and the advanced techniques for both steep and low-slope roofs.
• Mountain Ready: Highly comfortable working at heights and adaptable to varying High Sierra weather conditions (sun, wind, and cold).
• Reliability: A strong work ethic—you show up on time, ready to work, and lead by example.
• Licensure: A valid Driver’s License is strictly required so you can operate the provided company vehicle.
