Job summary

Austin Industries is seeking a competent Rigger to assemble rigging and move heavy equipment within industrial work areas. You will select hardware, attach loads, and direct crane operators using signals and radios to ensure safety and efficiency on site.

The position requires 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience with no minimum education requirement. We offer medical, dental, life and disability insurance, a 401K plan, and proud ESOP employee ownership.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
• Knowledge of rigging and crane operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Select cables, ropes, pullup, winches, blocks and sheaves based on load weight/size.
• Attach pullup and blocks to overhead structures with bolts/clamps.
• Assemble and disassemble cranes.
• Splice rope and wire cables to make/repair slings or tackle.
• Attach load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Direct crane operator with hand signals/radios to ensure safety.
• Set up, brace and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
• Observe and enforce safety rules.
• Maintain current certifications to meet regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
