SUNY Upstate Medical University seeks a journeyman plumber/steam fitter to perform and supervise installation, alteration and repair of plumbing, medical gas, heating and HVAC systems in University Hospital and related buildings.

The role requires reading plans and specs, welding as needed, and maintaining compliance with state and federal safety codes. Valid NYS driver’s license is required and candidates may need respirator use.

Formación

• Four years of full-time experience in the plumbing trade or equivalent training.
• Two years of maintenance or related mechanical work preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform journeyman plumbing/steam fitting work and supervise others.
• Install, alter, and repair kitchen and patient care equipment, medical gas systems, pipes, fittings and fixtures.
• Operate welding on metals including steel, iron, brass and aluminum.
• Work on heating, domestic water, drainage, and HVAC systems.
• Read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications; ensure compliance with codes.
