Job summary

State of Washington’s Maintenance and Operations Division at Western State Hospital in Lakewood seeks a journey‑level Plumber to perform plumbing, pipefitting, and steam fitting work on hospital facilities. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Current WA Journey-level Plumber Certification PL01 or equivalent.
• Completion of an apprenticeship in plumbing, pipe fitting, or steam fitting.
• Journeyman status in Plumber and Pipefitters Union acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, inspect, maintain, and repair plumbing systems in commercial/residential buildings.
• Operate and repair lift stations and associated piping and drives.
• Refurbish valves, cut and thread pipe, and perform pump maintenance.
• Keep tools clean and in good condition.
• Estimate materials and time needed to complete jobs.
