Irving ISD seeks a plumber to maintain, repair, and install plumbing systems. The role includes performing preventative maintenance and ensuring all plumbing fixtures are safe and operational. A valid Texas Journeyman Plumber License and high school diploma or GED are required, along with significant plumbing experience.
The successful candidate will exhibit strong organizational and communication skills and be capable of supervising plumbing staff. This position may require working outside and inside, with various physical demands.
Under general supervision, maintain, repair, and install plumbing systems, services, and equipment for the District. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems and fixtures in District facilities.
Paygrade: FAC 07

Tools/Equipment Used: Plumbing tools and equipment including pipe bender, propane torch; hand tools; power tools; heavy equipment including forklift, trencher, backhoe; light truck or van.
Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders/scaffolding, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving.
Lifting: Lifting and carrying up to 55 pounds without assistance, more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance, on a daily basis.
Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and fumes, noise, vibration, and electrical hazards; work around gas lines; work around machinery with moving parts; may work in tight or enclosed spaces; may work alone; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours; frequent districtwide travel.
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress and exercise reasoning and problem‑solving skills.
