Essential Duties

• Study specifications, building plans, and shop drawings to determine tools, equipment, and installation sequence, following hanger spacing and load requirements.
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, urinals, water heaters, and water softeners.
• Locate and mark pipe positions and passage holes using rulers, levels, and lasers.
• Cut openings in walls and floors for pipes using hand and power tools.
• Install sleeves and leave outs for roof and wall penetrations.
• Digs, backfills, and tamp ditches with shovels, picks, and tampers.
• Cut, ream, and solder copper piping; braze, solvent weld, fuse, groove, and thread pipes using appropriate tools.
• Assemble and install valves, pipes, and fittings made of metals and non-metals with hand and power tools.
• Join pipes using mechanical solder, brazing, and pipe joining methods.
• Fill pipe systems with water or air and read gauges to check for leaks.
• Maintain a clean work area, follow safety regulations, and properly use PPE and safety equipment.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Journeyman Plumber’s License
• 4+ years of experience as a Plumbing Journeyman preferred
• Trained to operate machinery such as scissor lifts, aerial lifts, and forklifts
• Proficiency through training and on-the-job experience, capable of guiding less experienced colleagues
