POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a driven and experienced Journeyman Plumber to join our fast-growing Capital City Team. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of commercial and/or industrial plumbing systems, proven leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple crews and job sites with precision. This role plays a critical part in ensuring all plumbing projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standard.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues in commercial settings with a focus on precision and efficiency.
  • Provide timely and effective solutions for leaks, clogs, pipe damage, and other plumbing-related problems
  • Collaborate with construction team to plan and implement plumbing systems in new commercial construction projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate installation of pipes, fixtures and plumbing systems
  • Install and maintain plumbing systems in new construction projects, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify potential issues and address them proactively
  • Communicate with clients to understand their plumbing needs, providing detailed explanations of proposed services and estimated costs
  • Educate clients on maintenance practices and recommend solutions for long-term plumbing system health
  • Work closely with other construction professionals, including contractors and project managers, to coordinate plumbing installations in new construction projects
  • Collaborate with service teams to ensure seamless execution of plumbing repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship in both service and new construction projects, ensuring all plumbing systems meet quality and safety requirements
  • Stay updated on plumbing codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance in both service and new construction activities
  • Provide prompt and effective responses to emergency plumbing situations, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in service and construction environments

  • This position reports to the local Branch Manager.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship or another type of formal plumbing training
  • Ability to use a wide variety of plumbing tools and techniques
  • All state and federal-mandated license required to practice
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Follow oral and written instructions
  • Work cooperatively with others
  • Willingness to respond to emergency plumbing situations at odd hours

BEHAVIORAL PROFILE

Language Skills

Capable of leading team meetings, communicating clearly with trades and stakeholders, and documenting site progress reports and updates.

Mathematical Skills

Able to estimate material quantities, calculate labor needs, and track productivity against targets. Understands basic budgeting and cost tracking.

Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic environments. Can assess site challenges, adapt plans, and maintain momentum under pressure.

Physical Demands

The role involves regular field presence, requiring walking, climbing, lifting, and occasionally assisting with hands-on tasks. Must be comfortable working in changing environments including rooftops, underground piping, and mechanical rooms.
