Job summary

Blue Mountain Plumbing, Heating & Cooling is seeking a Journeyman Plumber to deliver top-tier residential plumbing service across the Shenandoah Valley, including Fishersville and Staunton. You will mentor an apprentice on service calls, perform diagnostics, and install or repair plumbing systems with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

You will work a Monday–Friday schedule with a take-home van, company vehicle, and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1 to 5+ years of active residential plumbing service and repair experience.
• Valid Virginia Journeyman Plumber License preferred (or actively pursuing).
• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Experience with ServiceTitan is a strong plus.
• Strong diagnostic, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills on residential systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality residential plumbing diagnostics, repairs, water line maintenance, and equipment installations.
• Explain plumbing issues clearly to homeowners and present options for five-star service.
• Use ServiceTitan for dispatch, job tracking, and customer communication.
• Lead and mentor an apprentice on the road, sharing knowledge in-field.
• Maintain a clean, safe, well-stocked service vehicle and adhere to safety codes.

About the Role

As a Journeyman Plumber, you play a vital role in delivering best-in-class residential plumbing service, maintenance, and repairs to homeowners across Fishersville, Staunton, and the surrounding areas. This position is critical to our organizational mission of elevating trade standards while providing ethical, dependable craftsmanship.

You will never be left on an island. You will receive direct mentorship from our Lead Plumber, Scott - an exceptionally skilled technician who takes immense pride in training others and tailoring development to your specific skill set. You will also run service calls with an apprentice on your truck, allowing you to sharpen your leadership skills and mentor the next generation while receiving dedicated support in the field.

What's In It for You

• Hiring Bonus: $3,000 hiring bonus paid upon start (terms apply).

• Base Salary: $25.00 to $34.00 per hour based on experience.

• Incentive Structure: Performance incentives, commissions, and spiffs to maximize your earning potential.

• On-Target Earnings (OTE): Realistic annual earnings of $75,000 to $90,000+.

• Guaranteed Hours: Full-time stability with 35 to 40 guaranteed hours per week year-round, even in slow seasons.

• Work-Life Balance: Predictable Monday through Friday schedule with a first service window around 8:00–9:00 AM and no routine on-call shifts.

• Company Vehicle & Tech: Take-home service van, company gas card, tablet, and mobile phone.

• Paid Time Off (PTO): PTO accrual starting on day one, offering 2 weeks in your first year and up to 4 weeks over time.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality residential plumbing diagnostics, repairs, water line maintenance, and equipment installations.

• Communicate directly with homeowners to explain plumbing issues, present clear options, and deliver five-star service.

• Utilize company-provided digital devices and ServiceTitan software for dispatch, job tracking, and customer communication.

• Work collaboratively with assigned apprentices in the van, modeling quality workmanship and guiding their professional growth.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and fully-stocked company service vehicle.

• Adhere to all safety codes, local building regulations, and ethical trade practices.

Required & Preferred Experience

• Experience: 1 to 5+ years of active residential plumbing service and repair experience.

• Licensing: Valid Virginia Journeyman Plumber License preferred (or actively working toward state licensure).

• Driver's License: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

• Software: Experience with ServiceTitan field management software is a strong plus (not strictly required).

• Technical Skills: Strong diagnostic, mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting capabilities on residential systems.
