Job summary

Robinson Construction Company is seeking a Journeyman Pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems across steam, hot water and industrial processes. You will work from blueprints, perform welding or threading, and ensure safe, code-compliant installations.

The role requires several years of pipefitting experience, ability to read drawings, and a commitment to a safe workplace. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of Journeyman Pipefitting experience required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift or industrial license preferred.
• OSHA 10 or MSHA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with job site Superintendent to configure pipe system layout.
• Cuts, threads, or hammers pipes to specifications using power tools.
• Lays out full scale drawings of pipe systems according to blueprints.
• Assembles or secures pipes and fittings by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering or threading.
• Measures and marks pipes for cutting or threading.
• Inspects, tests, or pressures pipe lines using gauges or hydrostatic testing.
• Plans pipe system layout, installation, or repair per specifications.
• Attaches pipes to walls or fixtures using brackets, clamps or welding equipment.
• Maintains pipe systems using hand or power tools.
• Selects pipe sizes and materials per specifications.
• Cleans or bores holes in structures prior to installation.
• Installs automatic controls to regulate pipe systems.
• Shuts off utilities with valve keys or wrenches.
• Inspects work sites for obstructions or hazards.
• Installs energy-saving fixtures or equipment.
• Installs pipe systems for alternative energy-fueled systems.
• Checks work and repairs faults as needed.
• Promotes safe workplace practices and adherence to safety policies.
• May perform duties of other positions.
