Job summary

Robinson Construction Company is seeking a skilled pipefitter to layout, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems across industrial facilities in the United States. The role requires reading blueprints and using welding, soldering and threading techniques to connect pipes and components.

On-site work with potential travel to client sites; safety and compliance are emphasized, with overtime and weekend work possible as project demands require.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and schematics.
• Proficiency with welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading joints.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with job site Superintendent to configure pipe system layout.
• Cuts, threads, or hammers pipes to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, or pipe benders.
• Lays out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, or related equipment, according to blueprints.
• Assembles or secures pipes, tubes, fittings, or related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading joints.
• Measures and marks pipes for cutting or threading.
• Inspects, examines, or tests installed systems or pipe lines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
• Plans pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specifications.
• Attaches pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
• Selects pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports, hangers, or hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
• Installs automatic controls to regulate pipe systems.
• Shuts off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches.
• Inspects work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness
• Takes personal responsibility for fostering a safe workplace by following safety policies and procedures.
• May perform a variety of duties including those of other positions.
