Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience or training demonstrating ability to perform pipefitting duties per job description.
• Credit for volunteer work may be counted toward qualifications.
• A full year of work is 35-40 hours per week as used for credit.

Responsibilities

• Receive work assignments from supervisor via work orders, oral instructions, building plans, blueprints and sketches.
• Work on steam piping, valves, steam straps, steam powered equipment, pressure regulators and related items.
• Maintain disposal and utility systems including waste, drainage, slope and fall of systems.
• Install and maintain plumbing fixtures and equipment; work with copper, galvanized, black, cast iron, PVC, ABS, glass and fuse seal piping.
• Perform rough-in, set and finish, and soldering (soft and silver) for plumbing connections.
• Perform mechanical work such as assembling and repairing wheel chairs, beds, stands and other equipment.
• Weld repairs using electric arc or oxyacetylene; operate power tools and equipment; manage tools and materials.
